Corpus Christi native and graduate of Mary Carroll High School. In her senior year of high school, Melanie was in the work program and gained administrative assistant experience while working for State Farm Insurance. In addition, Melanie continued developing her administrative skills and gaining experience while working in the aviation industry for a Part 135 commercial aircraft company at the Corpus Christi International Airport. With her love for flying after high school graduation, she began working full time at the commercial aviation company.
Melanie has experience in many industries including aviation, construction, trucking, wholesale, recycling, import/export and accounting/financial. After the company she was working for relocated to Florida, Melanie has continued to work in the financial and accounting industry while now working with King Estate Law.
Melanie is a single mother of two children, Michael (26) and Meagan (22). Michael graduated from Texas A&M Kingsville with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Meagan graduated from Texas A&M College Station with a degree in Public Health. Meagan now attends Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth.
In Melanie’s spare time, she’s an avid volunteer out in the community and loves to give back. Melanie volunteers with the Texas Brush Country Safari Club International Chapter (TXBCSCI) serving as the membership coordinator and Corpus Christi A&M Mothers’ Club serving as President. Melanie previously held the Treasurer position for 2 years with the CC Aggie Moms. Melanie is currently serving as an Ambassador with the Federation of Texas A&M University Mothers’ Clubs. Melanie has also spent her time volunteering with the Friends of NRA, Corpus Christi NWTF, several youth organizations and various schools.
